MOBA Gamers

You've all heard about it by now. There are some new titles coming out based on the awesome and world famous "DotA" which stands for Defense of the Ancients. You're probably asking yourselves what are they, and what do they all have to do with the MOBA genre?
Well, that's easy! Thanks to the popularity of DotA as a custom map for Warcraft 3 it has sprung up a lot of great ideas. There is much left unsaid due to the strict Non-Disclosure Agreements for both League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth in which I beta test for both! I'm actively bringing in well known DotA players into the games to give both companies (Riot and S2 Games) proper insight on how to make both of their games the most successful for the mainstream player as well as the most skilled DotA Player.

You might be asking yourself, I've heard all about League of Legends, how come I haven't heard anything about Heroes of Newerth!? That's a question that's boggled my own mind to be honest. I have developed great relationships with both the Riot and S2 Games staff over the recent months and have seen LoL all over the place in the media. The first time the DotA community heard abuot HoN was thanks to a leak on Garena forums which happened a day ago. I'm sure the minds behind HoN have a strategy to release the game, but I'm sure now with the release of the screenshots they will be forced to make an earlier announcement that they had planned.
What is different about DotA, LoL, and HoN? Well both LoL are using new engines for everything from graphics to in game mechanics, so DotA is no longer stuck in the constraints of Warcraft 3's 7 year old engine. That means no limitations on game play, nor the interface. Both LoL and HoN get to take from the good of DotA and improve on it, and fix all the bad issues we're used to with the engine... like the fact that it wasn't made for DotA.
Both LoL and HoN have a lot to live up to, and I am excited to see them both succeed. I have a passion for this DotA and the genre it's created; I've always seen it more than just a custom map for a 7 year old game. HoN and LoL both have e-sports geared mentalities and both have huge DotA figures backing their products, it will be nice to see something new for the gamers avidly waiting to take their DotA gaming to the next level.
